Chapter Nine

HEATH WAS dressed in his new uniform and studying his reflection in the full-length mirror when Theo came out of the head wearing nothing but a towel hanging loosely on his long slender frame. As he passed by, Heath caught a whiff of Theo’s cologne floating on the air. He instantly recognized the scent but didn’t remember the name.

No longer looking at his own reflection, Heath nonchalantly followed Theo with his eyes as he moved across their cabin, and damn if the man didn’t look edible in terrycloth.

Theo opened his closet door, retrieved his own uniform, and laid it out on his bed. He then moved to his dresser, opened a drawer, and retrieved his underwear. When Theo’s towel fell to the floor and Heath saw his tight, muscular ass, he fought to catch the gasp before it escaped his lips. When Theo bent down and exposed his impressive balls as he pulled his underwear up, Heath swallowed the lump that had formed in his throat and almost choked on his own drool.

Theo turned around, and Heath diverted his stare back to his uniform. “Hey, you did a great job with the measurements,” he said in a shaky voice. “This thing fits me like a glove.”

Theo stepped up behind him and looked at Heath’s reflection in the mirror. Theo was so close to him, Heath could smell his cologne, stronger now. And noticed again it was a familiar scent.

“What cologne are you wearing?” Heath asked.

“Old Spice.”

“Really?”

Theo titled his head. “Yeah. Why?”

“I didn’t think I’d ever smelled Old Spice before, but the scent is so familiar I must have. It smells really nice. It fits you.”

“Thanks,” Theo said, turning away from Heath’s reflection. “Now turn around and let me get a real look at you.”

Heath complied and struck a pose. Theo plucked a piece of lint from Heath’s shoulder and stepped back. “You’re right. I did do a great job.”

Heath blushed a little and inhaled again, Theo’s scent drifting through his senses. “Thank you,” he said.

“For what?”

“For everything,” Heath said. “The opportunity. The uniform. Everything.”

Theo grabbed Heath by his upper arms and gazed into his eyes. They held each other’s stare for a long moment, and Heath got the strangest idea that Theo was going to kiss him. But then Theo smiled, and as quickly as the moment had come, it was gone. “I should be thanking you. This is going to be a great experience. For both of us.”

Theo slapped his hands against Heath’s upper arms once and turned. The moment had indeed passed, and Heath was more than a little unnerved by it. He could have sworn Theo was going to kiss him. Did I imagine that? As Theo dressed, Heath replayed the scene over in his head. I might not have that much experience in the romance department, but I do know when someone is about to kiss me.

It hit him like a ton of bricks. Theo watching him sleep. Theo’s apparent erotic dream. Theo about to kiss him.
